✶ tattoo ✶

in many indigenous cultures, tattooing is an ancient practice, a ritual and a rite of passage. i believe that each time we receive a tattoo it is like shedding a layer of old skin - revealing parts of our true selves. every piece tells a story - however small, however silly, however deep.

✶ about me ✶

Following in the footsteps of my Philippine ancestors, guided by tradition and intention, my studio is a sanctuary where every tattoo is an act of expression and empowerment. I honor the indigenous heritage of tattooing as a sacred ritual, weaving personal stories and cultural significance into each design. With meticulous attention to detail and a deep reverence for the craft, I approach every tattoo with care, ensuring that it becomes not just a mark on the skin, but a meaningful symbol of identity and connection. I am incredibly selective with my clients, inviting those who seek more than just a tattoo, but a transformative intimate experience. Whether it’s your first tattoo or an addition to your collection, it will forever be a honor for me.

✷ how i work ✷

As an indigenous tattoo artist, I incorporate rituals into the tattooing process, fostering a sense of connection and meaning.
I believe each tattoo session requires a level of intimacy, communication and respect. I require each of my clients to fill out a booking application form in order for me to understand you better, get a sense of what you want and to determine if it will be a good fit. This form is for pre-drawn flash only. I add new drawings all the time. You can view my collection of pre-drawn flash on my Instagram business account @mahikaink. These drawings are channeled and I will not alter them in any way. There is a huge range in theme, size, placement opportunity, etc. If something calls to you, then consider it a sign it was meant for you! Because my drawings are channeled in moments of inspiration, custom tattoo requests are taken on a case-by-case basis - as this requires me to sit with the specific intention behind it. If you would like a custom design, please indicate this in the booking application - be as detailed as possible. Once submitted, if your idea is approved I will send you a link to my calendar so you can choose the date/time that works best for you, within my availability. Your patience is greatly appreciated while I take the time to read & respond. Thank you! Maraya Mahika
